Planners assess development and land use proposals against the requirements of the local and regional council district plans and the Resource Management Act (RMA). Our planners prepare resource consent applications and work with the local councils to obtain resource consents for our client’s projects.

What planning services does TrueSouth offer?

TrueSouth’s Invercargill-based planning team provide a comprehensive range of planning services to support land development, subdivision and construction throughout the southern region.

Our Wānaka based office has relationships in place with external trusted planning consultants who we collaborate with regularly, to ensure a ‘one stop shop’ service for our Wānaka clients.

Our planning services include:

  • Land Use Resource Consents: We prepare Resource Consent Applications for residential, commercial, retail, industrial, early childhood education and regional councils;
  • Subdivision Consents: Our planning team works alongside our surveying and engineering team to prepare Subdivision Consents.

When is a Planner required?

  • Subdividing land: When dividing a parcel of land into smaller lots, our planners assess the proposal against the requirements and zoning rules of the district plan. We then prepare, submit and obtain a resource consent for the project;
  • Construction projects: Our planners assess the project against the requirements and zoning rules of the district plan. We then prepare, submit and obtain a resource consent for the project.
